Went to see a football match in Brasil. Local team of the city of Juidiai (Paulista) played FC Sao Paulo, recent champions of the world having beaten FC Barcelona in Tokio in December. A really good match with lots of skills and attacking play. Paulista deserved more than a last minute draw (gol in injuty time) having had most of the possession and the chances.
Went to Rio for a couple of meetings with customers. The touristic part of the city is quite good (as you would expect, in spite of the dreadful weather I came across), Copacabana, Pao de Acucar, the Christ statue etc.. but what had an impact on me is the quantity of the favelas and the tension on the strees due to the ever-present risk of being attacked, robbed, kidnapped etc… On the pic below the famous favela of “Cidade de Deus” or City of God of the famous film.
Fui al famoso sitio de vuelo de Andradas a unos 140 km de Campinas y a unos 210 de Sao Paulo. El sitio es maravilloso y muy famoso para vuelos de distancia. Desafortunadamente la meteo no era favorable y no pude volar. La naturaleza aqui es maravillosa. Tuvimos que cruzar un rio. Todo es muy verde.

With the latest addition of Recife International Airport (in the above picture) I have now either took off from or landed in over 100 international airports. You can see the full list here . Below is a picture of the Recife sea front from my hotel room window. Recife is a very nice city in the North East of Brazil, quite different from Campinas and Sao Paulo.

A view of the city of Campinas (Sao Paulo State, in Brasil) from the dashboard of my rented Chevrolet Celta. Campinas is going to be my new home for the next 3 months of hard commercial work… it is my first time in Brasil and I really like it. People are friendly and the food here (especially Japanese) is absolutely wonderful. Tudo Beleza, tudo legal! Ate logo!!
La playa de Boca Chica en Santo Domingo. Un inicio de 2007 en en caribe con calor y un par de horitas de playa. Volamos alli el dia 31 y cogemos el vuelo de vuelta el dia 1 a las 21.55. A new year’s eve and new year’s day definitely different!
